The Optilift Autonomous Crane Control System has been developed in cooperation with Aker BP, and was successfully demonstrated in public for the first time in 2019.
The Autonomous Crane Control System enables crane operations to be fully operated without human intervention.
A live environment full-scale test is set to be finalized during 2021, where the target is to implement crane autonomy level 3 – “assisted autonomy”.
Such a level of autonomy enables the crane to perform a wide variety of activities when given permission from the operator. The operator is mainly “signed off”, but is present as a supervisor to confirm proposed solutions or act as a fallback and ready to overtake operations if needed.
Here, the Optilift Control Room suite is used to supervise, monitor and, if required, intervene lifting operations in a safe and efficient manner.
